A Quadripartite meeting between UNHCR, IOPCR, ICMPD and CIR |
Tripoli – Libya: 08-06-2009 : Within the framework of the partnership and cooperation agreement concluded between the Organization and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the Italian Council for Refugees (CIR) and the International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), Mr. Khaled El-Hamedi the President of IOPCR, met on Monday Dr. Mohammed Hantosh, Chief of Mission of UNHCR in Tripoli, Mr. Christopher Hein, Director of CIR and Mr. Martija Pluim, Director at ICMPD in Austria and the delegations accompanying them. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the methodology of joint cooperation and coordination between the IOPCR and its partners on how to provide services and humanitarian assistance to irregular immigrants residing in Libya. The partners also discussed possibilities of finding humanitarian durable solutions for such population including prospects of voluntary return to their respective countries of origin, pursuant to the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement signed in 2008. |

The organization inspects on 234 illegal immigrant held at the Tripoli international port. |
Tripoli – Libya 09/05/2009 : The organization paid a visit to the Tripoli international port to check on 234 illegal immigrant among them there where 41 female whom where held onboard three Italian boats, the Italian authorities returned these illegal immigrants to Libya after rescuing them from the Mediterranean Sea, the organizations delegation with representatives from UNHCR met with the authorities of the port to discuss how to help these immigrants, also the organization provided them with all the assistants that is needed. |

Tripoli - Libya 11/04/2009 : In extension of the campaign launched by the organization at the end of last year, A charity market sponsored by the organization was held in Dunia Al-Ebdaa school in Tripoli, Libya, on Friday, 10/04/2009 ,the market was organized in solidarity to the Palestinian people, the income of this day will be benefit to the Palestinian children affected by the war on Gaza Strip, sending a message from the children of Libya to the children in the Strip saying (We are with you). |  More photos
